If I am in Month or Year view and I click the plus to add a new item, in the dialogue that opens there's a tag icon. If I click this, I can select or create tags for the new entry.

If I'm in Day or Week view the tag icon isn't visible in the dialogue. This means I have to create the new item, then edit it to add the tags. This is an extra step I need to perform to add tags to items created in Day or Week view.
