I'm definitely not finished with Habits, there's still plenty I'd like to add and improve, but it serves as a good basis for now.

Hi everyone,
Very excited to announce that Habits (beta) is now available in Bullet 1.36.0!
Please enable the Habits feature and share with me any feedback. I'm interested to know primarily
- If something isn't working
- If something is confusing
- If you have any feature requests or habit settings requests
- If you have any suggestions for improving usability
With Bullet Habits, you can track
- Habits you want to build or quit
- Daily or Weekly Habits
- Set multiple reminders
- Set goal
- View streak and statistics
- Choose icon
- You can update goals later on without affecting previous streak/completion data.
In order to enable the feature, go to settings > account and then Enable Habits (beta). Then you can find the Habits in the sidebar and start adding from there.

Hamish big yay! So far it works really well ^^
Next up would be statistics (or maybe they are already there?) - seeing how much I've done a habit in a week/month/year: where do I do that?
Hamish
Concerned Rebe: If you long-press on a habit, you can view the habit statistics :) you can also get there by going to habits > manage and tapping on the habit

Hamish, thanks so much for this feature! This is really great!
I have 4 questions/suggestions:
- Do you want to add monthly habits, too? I for example have a medication that I only have to use once a month and I would love to add this to the habits
- Do you intend to add a search or sorting to the icons for the habits? I wasn't able to find something related to medication for example because there was no search or sorting
- how do you add notes to the habits? I saw a view notes functionality but could not figure out how to write a note. EDIT: OK, found it, though I don't find it super intuitive to first do "view notes" to be able to write notes, tbh. Still great, that there are notes in the first place!
- is there a way to "undo" a habit? If I for example unintentionally clicked a habit and now want to reset it, how would I do that?
Thanks in advance for you reply and thank you again for your effort with the app!

Hamish I am excited to start using Habits. I did notice that in dark mode the icons didn’t appear white in the creation screen like they do on the actual habit page. Example

Obvious Jobyna Sorry for the late reply!
- I was thinking about wether to add monthly/yearly habits. I might add them at some point, but I neglected them for now my thinking being that if something is done once a month, it's more of a to-do than a habit and can be handled with a repeating task instead.
- Actually, icons already have search 😅 but the UI has a bug!
- Ok, maybe I can change that text to add note instead of view notes
- Yes you can undo by swiping :) You can complete/add/undo/reset/skip by swiping left or right.
Hamish
Political Kellina Thanks for that!

For those who have tried Habits, do you like the way Habits are accessed? I tried different ways of listing habits directly on the today view, which was my original intention, so that habits would be visible at a glance. But I couldn't manage it without really cluttering up the day view and that's the last thing I want.
I settled for showing the button at the bottom with the count of habits for that period, and a tick when complete, which I was happy with in the end.
Are you happy with that setup, with habits a little out of the way, or were you hoping for something where the habits are more visible at a glance?

Hamish, thank you for the reply!
- That does make sense
- Ah, okay, looking forward to the search!
- Sound's great!
- Oh, thanks for pointing that out! Did not know swiping is included.
Great work, it's a very nice addition to the app!

Hamish, I'm super happy with the way it's set up. When I used a paper bullet journal, the habits would be on a separate page following the week overview as well. So I find the current setup very intuitive. Also the visualization atop the habits page is great.

Hamish, not sure if it's reproducible or not but I'll report it anyway.
When I set a reminder for the habits and then complete the habit for the day before the reminder goes off (in this case about 30mins before), then the reminder still goes off.
Hamish
Obvious Jobyna: Thanks, good find :) I'll turn this into a bug report

Update: Since my last update I've been reading and looking at plenty of other apps, getting inspiration and practicing my own habits. I'm getting started with building now 💪

I'm officially starting on this in the coming week. Habits is going to take a while, as I'm starting off with some reading/research. Please comment if you have any favourite habit apps!

Hi Hamish - this is my absolute favorite habit tracker and I have tried and evaluated many. Developer actually gave me a free lifetime subscription because I helped him work out some early bugs. I use it everyday to track about a dozen physical therapy exercises that I do at home. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ziggycrane.time

Hamish I use HabitKit, the main thing I like is the zoomed out view of your consistency over the weeks

Can integrate using a list function but need options for customising repeat partterns e.g., repeat only on weekdays/ repeat on mamually selected dates

Hamish I like the thought of using Lists to keep the user experience simple (which you do a great job at). And have the Habit be a separate entry type so it can be marked hit or miss.
Once you add Filtering, which will hopefully be very few clicks to toggle filters on and off, it would be easy to visualize success or failure for a habit in the Month and Year views.
Most apps like TickTick have way too many screens and different elements. The Bullet app is so exceptional because it feels like pen and paper (simple yet flexible).

I’m very interested to see what you come up with for this. Sounds exciting!

I already integrated my habits as a custom list works great

This is not a habit tracker, just my opinion!
Hamish
Notable Jobyna: Thank you for your input. I think it makes sense to add features that paper & pen bullet journal users like to use. In either case - the addition of other features will always be optional.
