Hi everyone, the google calendar integration is now live!
Connect to google calendar, choose which calendars you want to sync from Google to Bullet, and choose which calendar you want to sync from Bullet to Google.
If you are on the free tier, the integration will sync up to two weeks. If you are on premium, the integration will sync up to two years.

Not sure if it is mentioned but please can we have the ability to add more than one google calendar as I have a family calendar and a google workspace calendar
Hamish
Impossible Arlette: You'll be able to attach one google calendar account, and any number of calendars attached to that account.
If you would like to access calendars from multiple accounts, you may be able to share your various accounts' calendars with one account, and then integrate with that account.

I'm running on the assumption that people want tasks to turn into google tasks, and for events to turn into google events - as opposed to both tasks and events turning into google calendar events. I'm open to discussion so please leave opinions!
Also, having made a start on this, I've decided to work first on https://bullet.canny.io/feedback/p/improvements-to-repeat (improvements to repeating tasks/events) as I predict that the google calendar integration will depend on some of the changes I have planned for that.

Hamish Good idea with the repeat improvements first.
Personally, I could care less if tasks integrate, as I don't use Google Tasks much. But if you're able to, couldn't hurt to add that feature in case some would like it.
My biggest thing is events. If I add an event in Bullet, I want it to also add to Google Calendar. And the ability to add notes or even tasks under an event would just make it awesome. :)
Appreciate all your hard work on this!
Hamish
Written Konstanze: I definitely plan for you to be able to add notes/tasks underneath :)

Hamish Perfect! Same with tags as well.
Since the device calendar is being synced on my phone, if I look at the weekly view, I have 7 events this week. I'd like to be able to set Bullet tags on those (even though they're coming from GCal), like I have a tag for the kiddo's events and things, one for my work, etc.
But if I open Bullet on the web on my work computer, which is honestly where I use it the most, I have
no
events this week. I could (and have) add them to Bullet but then they'll be duplicated on Bullet and the GCal is shared with the family so I kinda have to leave events there :)E

Written Konstanze Hamish I concur with everything here. Integration with Google Tasks isn’t important to me (and the Google Tasks API is severely limited as well, last I checked you can’t sync times or repeats). And thank you for all your hard work on this excellent app :-)
Hamish
Thanks for the feedback both of you :)
My question about google tasks is more wether people would prefer to sync a Bullet task to a Google task OR a Google event.
As you mentioned, the google tasks api is limited. Maybe people would like to sync bullet tasks to events instead, and then they can be timeboxed etc. 🤔 I can see a usecase for it but don't want to assume.

Hamish That’s a good point—I can definitely see the use case for time boxing. I would just ask that if you decide to sync Bullet tasks as GCal events, you give the user the option to sync either Bullet tasks, Bullet events, or both. I wouldn’t personally have the desire to sync tasks, though I can understand why someone would like to.

Hey everyone - I'm working on the Google Calendar integration as of now 😎 it will work on web too 👍

Related to this, one thing I've noticed is you have to add the external calendar from each device you are logged into, since it is using the device calendar, not syncing to your Google Calendar account.
So... I am logged in on 3 devices. Android phone, Android tablet, and a PC using the web version. The two Android devices are set to show Google Calendar events BUT I cannot see those when I'm on the PC. This is where I think a sync option would be 10x better.
It would also be nice to be able to add notes etc to an event from your Calendar. Sometimes now I have two entries on a day if I have say a doctors appointment coming through from Google calendar but I wanted to leave notes from the appointment then I have to add a separate entry for it.

Please whatever you do dont remove device calendar display. It's the only way many of us can view our work calendars on Android!
Hamish
Psychiatric Becca Don't worry, I have no plans to remove the device cal :) this will be in addition to it

Is there an update on the estimated release of this feature? I am excited for it!! :)
Hamish
Noisy Lauralee I don't have a timeframe for this one unfortunately. But it's the top requested feature now so I for sure am taking that in mind.

Hamish Glad to hear it’s top of mind! This missing feature is the only thing keeping me from committing to Bullet—I need feature parity across iOS and web apps so that I can trust my system whether I’m using my personal devices or my work computer.
Hamish
Eldest Charmine: I've prioritized the rest of this year's features, and this will come within a two months :)
